God of the sea and ruler of the Otherworld in Irish mythology. Manannán mac Lir possesses many magical items including a self-navigating boat, a horse that can ride over waves, and a cloak of invisibility. He is a psychopomp who guides souls to the afterlife and protects the borders between worlds.
