A knight and secret lover of Morgan le Fay, Accolon was given the true Excalibur by Morgan's enchantment and sent to fight Arthur in single combat, not knowing the king wielded only a counterfeit blade. Arthur prevailed through sheer valor, and Accolon died of his wounds shortly after.
