  Cú Chulainn unknowingly killed his own son Connla in single combat. Bound by geasa never to reveal his name, Connla fought his father until Cú Chulainn used the Gáe Bolga, recognizing his son only as the boy lay dying.

  An Otherworld woman appeared to Connla on the Hill of Uisneach and sang of a deathless land beyond the sea. For a month he ate only her apple that never diminished, until she returned in a boat of glass and Connla stepped aboard without a word — sailing west to Mag Mell, never seen in Ireland again.
