The Egyptian god of the rising sun and transformation, depicted as a scarab beetle or a man with a scarab for a head. Ancient Egyptians observed dung beetles rolling balls of dung and saw this as a metaphor for the sun's daily rebirth. Khepri represented the sun at dawn, complementing Ra at noon and Atum at dusk.
