Nidud was father to Böðvildr and two unnamed sons. When Wayland took his revenge on the captive king, he killed the two sons and assaulted Böðvildr, devastating Nidud's entire family.
King Nidud captured Wayland, stole his sword and golden rings, and had him hamstrung and imprisoned on the island of Sævarstaðr. Wayland took devastating revenge: he killed Nidud's two sons, crafted cups from their skulls, and escaped on wings he forged in captivity.
