• Apollo(spouse),Mopsus(child)— Consort

  Mopsus was the son of the prophetess Manto and Apollo. Through Manto, he was grandson of the great Theban seer Tiresias, inheriting an extraordinary prophetic lineage.

• Tiresias(parent)

  Manto was the daughter of the blind seer Tiresias of Thebes. She inherited prophetic abilities from her father and served as his guide.

• Apollo

  Apollo commanded Manto to found his oracle at Claros in Asia Minor after she was dedicated to him as war spoils at Delphi. She became the sanctuary's founding prophetess and bore the god's son Mopsus.

• Delphi

  After the Epigoni sacked Thebes, Manto was dedicated to Apollo at Delphi as the finest of the spoils, serving the god before being sent to found the oracle at Claros.

• Epigoni

  Manto was among the Theban captives taken by the Epigoni after their successful siege. She was dedicated to Apollo at Delphi as part of the victory offerings.

• Mopsus

  Mopsus's mother Manto, daughter of Tiresias, was sent by Apollo to found the oracle at Claros. Mopsus was born there and inherited the sanctuary, becoming its chief prophet.

• Thebes

  Manto was captured when the Epigoni conquered Thebes. The fall of the city ended her life in Thebes and led to her dedication to Apollo at Delphi.
