  Rukmini, incarnation of Lakshmi, is Krishna's principal queen at Dwarka — he abducted her at her own plea to save her from marriage to Shishupala. Their son Pradyumna, born as Kamadeva reincarnate, continued the Yadava line.

  Kamadeva was reborn as Pradyumna, son of Krishna and Rukmini, after Shiva burned the god of love to ash. The Bhagavata Purana identifies Pradyumna as Kamadeva incarnate, restoring the god of desire to embodied form.

  Pradyumna, the reincarnation of Kamadeva, grew to manhood in Shambara's household and ultimately slew the demon in battle, fulfilling the prophecy that had driven Shambara to kidnap him as an infant.
