  Vishravas and Kaikesi are the parents of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Vibhishana, and Shurpanakha. Kaikesi was a rakshasi chosen by her father Sumali to marry the sage Vishravas.

  Vibhishana crossed the ocean to surrender himself to Rama, declaring dharma above blood — and Rama, overruling Sugriva's suspicions, accepted the rakshasa prince as an ally, relied on his counsel throughout the siege of Lanka, and crowned him king after Ravana's fall.

  Vibhishana implored Ravana three times to return Sita and avert destruction, but Ravana struck him with his foot and banished him as a traitor — driving Vibhishana across the ocean to Rama's camp, where he revealed Lanka's defenses and Ravana's weaknesses.

  After Ravana's death, Rama installed Vibhishana as the righteous king of Lanka. The rakshasa who had defected to Rama's side was charged with ruling the golden city according to dharma rather than demonic pride.
