Ashiya Dōman and Abe no Seimei were rival onmyōji whose legendary contests of divination and sorcery became the defining conflict of Heian-era supernatural lore, culminating in Dōman's failed curse against Fujiwara no Michinaga and his defeat at Seimei's hands.
