  • The Kotoamatsukami are the five primordial kami who emerged when heaven and earth first separated from chaos — Ame-no-Minakanushi, Takamimusubi, Kamimusubi, Umashi Ashikabi Hikoji, and Ame-no-Tokotachi — each appearing alone and immediately concealing their forms.

  • Takamagahara, the High Plain of Heaven, is the celestial realm where Amaterasu reigns supreme among the heavenly kami — the primordial Kotoamatsukami, the wisdom god Omoikane, the mighty Ame-no-Tajikarao, the dancer Ame-no-Uzume, and the moon god Tsukuyomi.

  • The Zōka Sanshin are the first three kami to emerge from the primordial chaos — Ame-no-Minakanushi, Takamimusubi, and Kamimusubi — each appearing alone and embodying the creative force of musubi that set existence into motion.

  • When the tiny god Sukuna-Bikona appeared before Ōkuninushi and none could name him, Kamimusubi recognized the stranger as his own child who had slipped through his fingers, and commanded Sukuna-Bikona to join Ōkuninushi in building and healing the land.

  • When Ōkuninushi was crushed to death by a burning boulder rolled down by his jealous brothers, Kamimusubi dispatched Kisagai-hime and Umugihime from Takamagahara to scrape and nurse the shattered god back to life.
