Þjazi, Iði, and Gangr are the three sons of the wealthy giant Ölvaldi, who after their father's death divided his vast gold hoard by each taking mouthfuls in turn.
Skaði is the daughter of the giant Þjazi. After the gods killed Þjazi for kidnapping Iðunn, Skaði came to Asgard armed and demanding compensation for her father's death.
The Æsir killed Þjazi as he pursued Loki in eagle form during Iðunn's rescue. They lit fires along Ásgarðr's walls, burning the giant's eagle feathers so he fell within the gates, where the gods slew him.
The giant Þjazi kidnapped Iðunn and her apples of youth, carrying her to his hall Þrymheimr. Without Iðunn's apples the gods began to age, and they forced Loki to rescue her.
The giant Þjazi, flying in eagle form, dragged Loki through rocks and treetops until the trickster swore to lure Iðunn and her apples of immortality beyond Ásgarðr's walls.
Odin took Þjazi's eyes after the giant's death and cast them into the sky, where they became two stars.
