Kaveh the blacksmith rose against Zahhak after Zahhak sacrificed Kaveh's sons to feed the serpents on his shoulders. Kaveh raised his leather apron as a banner (Derafsh Kaviani) and rallied the people to join Fereydun's uprising against Zahhak's tyranny.
