Rakhsh is Rostam's legendary stallion and inseparable companion throughout the Shahnameh. Rakhsh fights alongside Rostam — killing a lion while Rostam sleeps and battling through the Seven Labors — and ultimately dies with his master in Shaghad's pit trap.
