  Daunus, king of the Rutulians, and the sea nymph Venilia produced Turnus and his sister Juturna, binding the mortal royal house to divine blood from the waters.

• Janus(spouse),Fontus(child)— Consort

  Janus fathered Fontus, god of springs and wells, upon the water nymph Juturna, uniting the god of beginnings with the goddess of flowing water to produce the deity of their source.

• Jupiter(spouse)— Consort

  Jupiter took the nymph Juturna by force and, in recompense for what he had stolen, granted her immortality and dominion over the springs and rivers that bear her name.

  After the Battle of Lake Regillus, Castor and Pollux appeared at the spring of Juturna in the Roman Forum to water their horses and announce Rome's victory before vanishing.

• Turnus

  Juturna disguised herself as Turnus's charioteer to protect her brother on the battlefield. When Jupiter's messenger forced her to withdraw, Juturna plunged into her river in grief, cursing her immortality.
