Mars and Venus produced Cupid, Timor, Pavor, and Harmonia. Their affair was famously discovered by Vulcan, who trapped the lovers in an unbreakable net.
⚠ Cicero (De Natura Deorum 3.23) lists multiple Cupids with different parentages. The Mars-Venus parentage follows Hyginus and the dominant Roman tradition.
Deimos (Greek) and Timor (Roman) are counterparts — both personify fear as sons of the war god and love goddess.
⚠ Roman fear-personifications (Timor, Metus, Pavor, Formido) overlap and different Latin authors map them to Phobos and Deimos inconsistently. This equivalence follows the pairing where Deimos (dread) corresponds to Timor (fear).
