The Kulika Kings of Shambhala have preserved the Kalachakra teachings across twenty-five successive reigns, guarding the Wheel of Time tantra within their hidden kingdom until the prophesied age when the final king will unleash its power to restore the dharma to the world.
Sucandra journeyed from Shambhala to receive the Kalachakra teachings from the Buddha at the great stupa near Dhanyakataka, then carried them back to his northern kingdom where he composed the root tantra and built a three-dimensional mandala of the entire cosmological system in precious metals and gems.
Shambhala is the vessel of the Kalachakra — the Wheel of Time tantra was brought to the hidden kingdom by its first king Sucandra and has been preserved there across centuries of successive rule, inseparable from the kingdom's identity and prophesied destiny.
