  Zeus visited Danaë as a shower of gold in her bronze prison, fathering Perseus, who would become one of the greatest Greek heroes.

• Acrisius(parent)

  Acrisius was Danaë's father, king of Argos. When an oracle foretold his grandson would kill him, Acrisius imprisoned Danaë in a bronze chamber to prevent her from bearing children.

• Andromeda

  Andromeda married Danaë's son Perseus after he rescued her from a sea monster. The two women became family, and through Andromeda, Danaë became grandmother to the ancestors of the Perseid dynasty.

• Arachne

  Arachne wove Danaë receiving Zeus as a shower of gold into her tapestry, one of several scenes depicting the king of gods' deceptions.

• Perseus

  Perseus rescued his mother Danaë from King Polydectes of Seriphos by turning the king to stone with Medusa's head. He installed the kind fisherman Dictys as ruler in Polydectes's place.
