Bhima wed the rakshasi Hidimbi with Kunti's blessing after slaying her brother, and their union produced Ghatotkacha, a half-demon warrior whose sorcery would one day shake the battlefield at Kurukshetra.
Hidimbi and her brother Hidimba were rakshasas dwelling in the forest where the exiled Pandavas took shelter — she was sent to lure them as prey, but instead fell in love with Bhima and turned against her own kin.
