Ame-no-Uzume married Sarutahiko after confronting and subduing him at the heavenly crossroads during Ninigi's descent. Their union is the origin of the Sarume priestly clan.
Sarutahiko appeared at the crossroads of heaven and earth to guide Ninigi during his heavenly descent to the terrestrial realm.
After marrying Sarutahiko, Ame-no-Uzume traveled to Azaka in Ise and gathered the sea creatures to pledge service to Ninigi. She slit the mouth of the silent sea cucumber with a knife as punishment.
