  Sigurd is the posthumous son of Sigmund and Hjördís. Sigmund died when Odin shattered his sword in battle, and Hjördís preserved the broken shards, which were reforged into Gram for Sigurd.

• Alf Hjalprekssonr(spouse)— Marriage

  After finding Hjördís among the slain on the battlefield where Sigmund fell, Alf Hjalprekssonr married her and raised her son Sigurd at his father's court.

• Eylimi(parent)

  King Eylimi fathered Hjördís, whom he gave in marriage to the aging hero Sigmund over the rival suitor Lyngi, son of Hunding.
