Mythology & Lore
After Ragnarök
Móði is named as Thor's son, brother to Magni. His name comes from Old Norse móðr, meaning courage or battle-wrath. No surviving source records an individual deed of his before the world's end.
What the sources do record is his fate. In Vafþrúðnismál 51, when Odin asks the wise giant what will remain after Ragnarök, the answer includes Móði and Magni: the two brothers will possess Mjölnir after Thor falls to Jörmungandr's venom. The hammer that defended the old world will pass to the sons who carry it into the new one.
