Aroni and Sigidi are both bush spirits in Yoruba tradition who interact with humans through nocturnal or forest encounters. While Aroni abducts to teach, Sigidi delivers nightmares, but both inhabit the liminal spaces between the human and spirit worlds.
Sigidi attacks through the head during sleep, targeting the dreamer's Ori. A person whose Ori is strong and properly honored can resist Sigidi's intrusion, while a weakened Ori leaves one vulnerable.
Osanyin's herbal knowledge provides the medicinal preparations used to counteract Sigidi attacks. Specific leaf baths and protective charms drawn from forest plants neutralize the clay spirit's malevolent influence.
