Jaya and Vijaya stand as the eternal dvārapālakas at the gates of Vaikuntha, barring all who would enter Vishnu's supreme abode without permission.
The Four Kumaras arrived at Vaikuntha seeking Vishnu's audience, but Jaya and Vijaya barred their path. Enraged, the child-sages cursed both gatekeepers to fall from heaven and be born three times as demons, the only breach of Vaikuntha's eternal peace.
