Ame-no-Uzume married Sarutahiko after confronting and subduing him at the heavenly crossroads during Ninigi's descent. Their union is the origin of the Sarume priestly clan.
The heavenly deities collaborated in the ritual before Ama-no-Iwato to lure Amaterasu from her cave. Omoikane devised the plan, Ishikoridome forged the mirror, Tamanoya crafted the jewels, Ame-no-Koyane and Futodama performed rites, Ame-no-Uzume danced, and Ame-no-Tajikarao pulled Amaterasu forth.
Ame-no-Uzume served Amaterasu as one of her heavenly attendants and was dispatched by the sun goddess on missions including confronting Sarutahiko during Ninigi's descent (Kojiki).
The five deities who attended Ninigi's descent from Takamagahara to the earthly realm: Ame-no-Koyane, Futodama, Ame-no-Uzume, Ishikoridome, and Tamanoya, as recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki.
Takamagahara, the High Plain of Heaven, is the celestial realm where Amaterasu reigns supreme among the heavenly kami — the primordial Kotoamatsukami, the wisdom god Omoikane, the mighty Ame-no-Tajikarao, the dancer Ame-no-Uzume, and the moon god Tsukuyomi.
Susanoo's rampage in heaven drove Amaterasu into hiding in Ama-no-Iwato. Ame-no-Uzume performed her ecstatic dance to lure Amaterasu out, restoring sunlight to the world as told in the Kojiki.
Ame-no-Uzume performed a raucous, ecstatic dance on an overturned tub outside Ama-no-Iwato, provoking laughter from the assembled gods that drew Amaterasu to peer from the cave (Kojiki).
After marrying Sarutahiko, Ame-no-Uzume traveled to Azaka in Ise and gathered the sea creatures to pledge service to Ninigi. She slit the mouth of the silent sea cucumber with a knife as punishment.
